Bandipur, Queen of the hills.

Bandipur the village:

One of Nepal's most charming towns, Bandipur is a beautifully preserved historic village. Its main street lined with traditional row houses. Time seems to have stood still here, although it has taken a lot of effort to preserve this magic while developing the town as a destination.

For us personally, Banipur is one of our favorite destinations in Nepal. The village is small, but the atmosphere is like nowhere else. And then there is the environment, beautiful mountains with rice fields and the most beautiful views. There are also temples, old buildings and many people still live in a traditional way.

Go Hiking:

The area around Bandipur is ideal for a nice hike. Our favorite walking route is from Bandipur to the farming village of Ramkot. Mind you, it is a long walk because you also have to go back. It is approximately 16 km up and down.

But the views are amazing and the walking route runs through the beautiful nature. In addition to the beautiful views along the way, Ramkot is also beautiful, and in nice contrast to Bandipur. Time really seems to have stood still here. Here people really live in the old way, a basic life with agriculture and farming as the main income. There is a shop where you can order a drink and some soup, but that's about it, so be prepared.

Enjoy the sunset:

Bandipur is located at an altitude of 1030 meters and there are some beautiful viewpoints around. So this is the ideal place to enjoy one of the more beautiful sunsets in Nepal. At least in the right season.

Location:

Bandipur is located between Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Bandipur can actually be reached from Nepal's main road via a winding road in about 30 minutes. In addition, it is also located north of Chitwan National Park. So if you make a trip through Nepal, the location is actually ideal to combine it with the other tourist hotspots.

2 to 3 nights is enough to explore Bandipur and the surrounding area. It's not big, but definitely worth a stop. It is also nice and quiet so it is very nice to enjoy the peace here and escape the madness of Kathmandu.
